Helping You Stay Compliant
“It takes less time to do things right, than to explain why you did it wrong” (Henry Wadsworth Longfellow)

AS3745 & AS4083
NDIS Practice Standards
Compliance is one of those things that is easily pushed to the side and forgotten about, until that one thing goes wrong.
For many businesses, it is not a lack of desire to do the right thing, but some people find the challenges of being emergency management compliant almost impossible to navigate.
This is true, when my car breaks down – I take it to a mechanic as I don’t have the expertise or experience to fix it. Equally most businesses and organisations do not have the expertise in emergency management.
Other clients we have assisted, have used someone that know about emergency management, but are not experts in the field, and well they have ended up with a mess.
This is our philosophy, if we don’t do it, we will be able to refer you to a company that does.
Wilcons is not a “jack of all trades” emergency management company. We focus on what we do well, and refer you to the companies that focus on what they do well.
AS3745 Planning For Emergencies In Facilities
Is your emergency/ disaster management plan or emergency / disaster response plan compliant with AS3745. All Wilcons plans are compliant with AS3745.
AS4083 Planning For Emergencies in Healthcare Facilities
AS4083 is a requirement for hospitals, nursing homes, residential care or other facilities that provide health care services. It is important to note that this includes residential care facilities, which through our experience are written to AS3745 – not AS4083. Is your facility plan written to the correct Australian Standard. Wilcons plans for healthcare facilities are written to comply with both AS3745 and AS4083.
NDIS Emergency & Disaster Management Practice Standard
NDIS Practice Standards are a critical compliance requirement for NDIS Service Providers. Our Managing Director is an approved NDIS worker (Victoria) and can write your NDIS plan to meet AS3745, AS4083 (required for residential care facilities) and incorporating compliance with the NDIS Practice Standards for Emergency and Disaster Management.

Keeping Australian Organisations compliant
At Wilcons we know that compliance is an expensive activity. That is why we have automated our compliance checking system to allow us to check your plans and evacuation maps to make sure that they are compliant.
These checks are free and the survey link will take you about five minutes to complete. We will come back to you with a compliance health check. This is totally free. Free from cost and free from obligation.
You will receive a report that shows the areas that are compliant and any gaps in compliance that may exist. Many businesses will be fully compliant. If you are – then we don’t want to provide you with a service that you don’t need. That is a waste of your time and money.

FAQs
To help with you make an informed choice, we have listed some of the Frequently Asked Questions.
Some of our frequently asked questions
You don’t know what it is you don’t know – so never be afraid to ask a question. If your question is not included here – send us an email via the contact us tab opposite.
How much do emergency management plans cost?
Our plans start at $750.00 (+gst). We do discount for multiple plans i.e. multiple residential facilities. Some plans that require more industry specific planning will cost more. Please ask us for an obligation free quote.
Do we have to comply with Australian Standards?
Compliance with Australian Standards is highly recommended. Some businesses may find that their insurance requirements include acknowledgement that you comply with Australian Standards.
It is also important to understand that if there is an incident, then the relevant WorkSafe or SafeWork Authority may want to seek to review your plan and its compliance.
Remember – it is always better to have it and not need it; than to need it and not have it.
What is the relevance of a "Lockdown" in Australia?
A common misconception about lockdowns is that they are only relevant for an ‘active shooter’ event at the workplace, which thankfully is a rare occurrence. We are however seeing more incidents where lockdowns are required due to incidents that occur outside of the workplace. For example a nearby domestic incident, may cause the police to instruct a lockdown.
Would you know what to do, where to go and how to instruct your team if your business or organisation was directed to lockdown?
We can assist you with specific plans and exercises to ensure that your business is prepared for a lockdown incident.
What is the relevance of risk management?
The ability for a business to identify the risks that pose the greatest risk to your people and business or organisation, means that you can devote your time and resources to addressing the risks that impact you. Spending a lot of time and a lot of money for a low risk issue to make it a low risk issue, is an expensive and futile process.
At Wilcons we can assist with Risk Assessment Tools. We can also assist in undertaking risk assessments with your team.
A team that understands the risks are more likely to be engaged to reduce the risks than a team that do not understand the process.
